Two Signs You Need a Roof Basket

Here are two signs you need a roof basket for your car.

Your car interior's upholstery frequently ends up smelly and stained

Most car owners only need to deep clean their vehicles' upholstery once every few months. If you've noticed that your car's upholstery gets smelly very quickly and is often coated in stains, and you have to wash it very regularly because of this, then you might find a roof basket useful.

The reason for this is that you could potentially use the roof basket to store the items that are making your car upholstery get dirty so quickly. For example, if you regularly go hiking on muddy terrain and find that when you take off your boots and put them in your car, they splatter mud everywhere, you could strap these into your roof basket after your hikes instead of putting them in the car. Similarly, if the damp towels you use at the beach and then leave in your backseat after you're finished swimming often make the upholstery musty and leave it coated in sand, you could fold these up and put them in the roof basket.

This could cut down on the time you spend on this car-related chore and increase the lifespan of your car upholstery (as frequent scrubbing of this fabric will result in it beginning to fray much faster than if it were washed less often).

Offering lifts to your friends and family is difficult because you use your passenger seats for storage

If you regularly need to drive around with bulky items (such as large work-related equipment) in your car interior and because of this, you rarely have enough passenger space in your car to offer lifts to friends and family, you should get a roof basket.

This basket will serve as a safe place to store any bulky items you need to have with you when you're driving and will mean that you won't have to use your passenger seats as storage areas anymore. This, in turn, will mean you can always offer lifts to your loved ones when you want without forcing them to squeeze in beside bulky items (or hold these on their laps during the journey).

Additionally, storing your important larger items in this basket instead of on a seat inside your car is also likely to keep them safer (provided you secure them to the basket with some sturdy straps) than if you were to leave them loose inside the vehicle, as the latter could lead to them falling onto the floor and breaking when you slow down or speed up.
